November has been an exciting month at Springhead, with plenty of events, activities and funding news. We are particularly delighted to have been awarded a grant of £20,000 by the Garfield Weston Foundation to help us run our charitable activities.
As a small charity, this grant will make a big difference to the Trust, and help us to keep providing our services at affordable rates to the schools and community groups that benefit from coming here. We are very grateful to the Garfield Weston Foundation for their support and for recognising the positive difference we make.
Highlights of this month have included performances from the Pagoda Project and the Methera Quartet, and a residential visit from the Churchill Academy from Somerset. This is the second year that the school has brought a group of year 8 and 9 students to Springhead for a creative writing residential, which inspired the pupils to write poetry, share short stories and listen to ghost stories as well as enjoying Autumn in the countryside. Pictured is the group who visited last year.
