With its picturesque and peaceful setting, Springhead provides an attractive venue for conferences, and we are particularly interested in holding events with an environmental or arts theme.
In October 2017 we ran a conference in partnership with the Ancient Tree Forum, called the Springhead Ashscape Project, which celebrated the history and diversity of ash trees, and explored the threat from ash die back disease, attracting local people as well as many specialists from across the UK and elsewhere in the Europe. The event also explored the cultural value of the ash tree, with art and photographic exhibitions, a choral celebration and an opportunity to listen to the internal workings of an ash tree.
Springhead is also available for hire as a conference venue. We have hosted an international conference on the protection of salmon and other fish in the salmonid family, which was attended by staff and research students from UK, EU and North American universities, for example.
