There are a number of opportunities for volunteering at Springhead and we would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in joining us, either on a regular or occasional basis.
Garden volunteers: The garden is maintained by a band of dedicated volunteers who gather on a Wednesday to help maintain the ornamental gardens around the lake. They sometimes help with the productive kitchen gardens too, and the ‘wildlife’ areas. Without them the garden simply could not function. Our gardener and volunteer co-ordinator is always looking for more volunteers to join the team, so we’d love to hear from you if you think you may want to join us. Tools and training are provided.
Events volunteers: Throughout the year we are grateful to those volunteers who help us run our events, from musical and drama performances at the Rotunda open-air theatre and in the Mill room, to open gardens events and arts workshops. Volunteers help with a range of tasks from serving refreshments to setting up the staging.
Trustees: From time to time there are vacancies on our board of trustees. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience of running a charity (charity finance, governance and communications) and from younger people interested in helping to shape the future of Springhead.
Regular volunteers are entitled to free entry to the garden on open days and discounts on various tickets.
